يعد موسي بن ميمون (1135 - 1204م) من أبرز الفلاسفة والمفكرين اليهود الذين عاشوا في المحيط العربي والإسلامي في الأندلس, وأشتهر بأنه أهم شخصية يهودية خلال العصور الوسطي, كما أشتهر كتابه: (دلالة الحائرين) بأنه واحد من أهم الكتب التي دونها اليهود.
كان ابن ميمون قد تلقي العلم علي يد ثلاثة من العلماء المسلمين, فتلقي مباشرة من ابن الأفلح, ومن أحد تلاميذ ابن الصائغ.. وتلقي من ابن رشد بشكل غير مباشر, حين عكف, كما يذكر ابن ميمون نفسه, علي دراسة مؤلفات ابن رشد طيلة ثلاثة عشر سنة, والمطالع في أحد أهم كتب ابن ميمون: (دلالة الحائرين) لا يجد إلا صدي الأفكار فلاسفة الإسلام, وعلماء الكلام وخاصة الأشاعرة.
وتدل كتاباته علي أنه أستقي آراءه من فلاسفة المسلمين, ولم يتجاوز الفارابي ولا ابن سينا ولا ابن رشد في معظم آرائه الفلسفية العامة, وكان لابن باجه مكانة خاصة عنده, حتي عده الشيخ مصطفي عبد الرازق فيلسوفاً إسلامياً - وإن لم يكن مسلماً - لأنه نشأ في المناخ الفكري الإسلامي, ولأنه كان يتنفس هواء الثقافة العربية الإسلامية.
وسيظل ابن ميمون هو الفيلسوف اليهودي من بين فلاسفة اليهود الأكثر جدلاً عبر التاريخ.
