على غير منشورات كثيرة أهتمت باليهود وأثارهم في الرواية الأسلامية ودورهم في الحضارة العربية والإسلامية كان أهتمامنا منصب على كتابات اليهود أنفسهم خاصة المستشرقين منهم في هذا المضمار، فلا ننكر دور العلماء والرواة اليهود العرب الذين كانوا من نسيج المنطقة وأثارهم في الرواية الاسلامية والحضارة الاسلامية التي بدأت بالفعل مع الدولة الأموية وصولا بالممالك العربية " الأندلسية" في شبه الجزيرة الايبرية آنذاك مرورا بممالك ودويلات اسلامية المتناثرة في المنطقة العربية والاسلامية " منطقة الشرق الأوسط" كدولة الفاطميين والأيوبيين والمماليك السلاجقة والعثمانيين. كان كتاب " كعب الأحبار " كأطروحة دكتوراة للمؤلف إسرائيل ولفنسون ( أبو ذؤيب) من جامعة غوتة في المانيا عام 1933 ونشرت في مطبعة القدس / شعفاط في ثلاثينيات القرن العشرين من تلك الأعمال التي كانت ضمن رؤيتنا وخطتنا في اعادة النشر لدى دار ابن رشد لاعتبارات كثيرة سنوردها في تلك المقدمة. وأهميته ضمن كتابات يهودية عن الدور اليهودي في الرواية الإسلامية خاصة باللغة العربية من قبل مستشرقين غربيين ضمن دراسات في علم الأديان المقارنة ولا سيما أن هذه الكتب تعد جزءاً من التراث العربي-الإسلامي. فرغم أهمية هذا الكتاب واعتباره مرجعا رئيسا فيما يتعلق بتاريخ اليهود في التراث العربي والاسلام.
