الحمد لله الذي أرسل محمداً "صلى الله عليه وسلم": {شاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا (45) وَداعِيًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِراجًا مُنِيرًا (46)}. [الأحزاب 45 - 46]. فهو بشارة عيسى، وإشارة موسى، ودعوة إبراهيم الخليل، ولقد خصه الله تعالى من الأولين والآخرين بالمضاعفة في كل تعظيم وتبجيل، وأهداه رحمة للخلق، فهو سيد المرسلين، وخاتم النبيين، وإمام المتقين، وملجأ المذنبين، وقائد الغر المحجلين، المصطفى الأمين، مدخر البشر، وصاحب المعجزات الباهرات والرايات العاليات، خصه الله تعالى بالمكان السامي، والشريعة الرفيعة، والملة المستقيمة، والأمة السميعة المطيعة، وجعل شريعته أقوم الشرائع والسبل، وجعله صاحب المقام المحمود، والحوض المورود، وخصه الله تعالى دون سائر خلقه بالنعمة الكبرى بقوله: {إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيماً} [الأحزاب:56].
والصلاة على النبي "صلى الله عليه وسلم" فضل عظيم وثواب جزيل، لا يدرك مداه إلا الله سبحانه جل في علاه، يقول الرسول الكريم "صلى الله عليه وسلم": "من صلى عليَ صلاة واحدة صلى الله عليه عشر صلوات، وحطت عنه عشر خطيئات، ورفعت له عشر درجات" (أخرجه النسائي). ويقول: "إن أولى الناس بي يوم القيامة أكثرهم علي صلاة" (أخرجه الترمذي).
