وقفت على مخطوط لشيخ الإسلام ابن تيمة قدس الله روحه ونور ضريحه جمع بين دفتيه سؤال قد حير العباد والزهاد، وعجز عن الإجابة عند العلماء. فجاء بار القوس، وحامل اللواء للإجابة عنه.
معلوم أن العبادة هى روح العباد، لذلك قال تعالى: (وما خلقت الجن والإنس إلا ليعبدون) [الذاريات:65] فلما علم الناس أنهم ما خلقوا إلا للعبادة، اجتهد العباد وتنافس الزهاد فى هذه العبادة، فقسموا أيامهم وأوقاتهم إلى مواسم وأعمال مخصوصة، وهى ما يسمونه أهل العلم عبادة الوقت، فإن لكل وقت عبادة، وصدق من قال: إن لله عبادة بالليل لا يقبلها بالنهار وعبادة بالنهار لا يقبلها بالليل.
فإذا بأعمال اجتمعت فى وقت واحد، وإذا بفضائل تزاحمت فى زمن واحد، فوقف المشمرون متحيرون أيهما أفضل فى هذا الوقت الأولى أم الثانية؟!!
فجاء شيخ الإسلام رحمه الله وأجاب عن السؤال بما فتح الله عليه به، فجزاه الله خيراً لما قدم للإسلام والمسلمين.
