يتضمن هذا المجلّد مجموعة من المعارف في علم الفلك والدلالات والرموز والمعتقدات كما كان يراها الأقدمون من أهل المعرفة. فقد وضع الإنسان منذ الأزل في تحدي ومواجهة عملية فهم وتحليل الظواهر، وعلاقة الإنسان بها، وفي محاولة الوصول إلى حلول لمشكلات الروح والجسد المختلفة.
يكشف المؤلف عن الأسرار، وكنوزها، مفتتحا عالمه، "في معرفة الله تعالى" التي هي واجبة على الأعيان، "بالذات والصفات والأسماء والأفعال ومعرفة الرسل والملائكة". ينتقل بعدها إلى "معرفة الحروف"، فيبين أبعادها وعددها، ومراتبها وترتيبها، وأنواعها كالعربي والهندي والسرياني، مرفقة بالصور والأمثلة. ويبحث في سر الحروف النورانية الأربعة عشر، وبسطها وتصريفها ورموزها، وفي سر الحروف الظلمانية الأربعة عشر الأخرى ورموزها، كما يبحث في الأصلي منها والأجنبي، واللفظي واللغوي والمعنوي، وخواص كل منها، ثم خواص الأسماء، وفي الأسماء المستخرجات من القرآن بشكل خاص.
ينتقل إلى فصل في سر آيات القرآن الكريم، ومدى أهمية الرجوع إليها لتنفيذ رغبة أو مشيئة إنسانية. في الرصد وانتقال الشمس والقمر، وفي العلم العلوي والسفلي والأشياء وصفة تكوينها، يفصّل في "صفة الجليل جلّ جلاله في السماوات المبنيات والأفلاك المدورات والنجوم"، بما فيها الكواكب السيارة وغير السيارة، وفي أمكنة الدّررة وأسمائها وطريق سيرها ومكوثها وبيوتها. لينتقل بعدها إلى الأبراج الإثني عشر وصفاتها وتقاربها ومعرفة الطالع. ويدخل في عوالم المثلثات والمربعات والمخمسات والمسدسات والمسبعات والمثمنات وفي المتسع والمعشر، ويبرز كيفية إيجاد الحلول للمشاكل التي يمكنها أن تصادف البشر، وينتهي بباب العطوفات. يشرح المؤلف أيضا دائرة أفلاطون الحكيم "المستخرجة من شمس المعارف ولطائف العوارف"، ويقدّم ملحقا مسهبا بفوائد من حواشي الكتاب، تتعلق بمجموعة كبيرة من العلاجات للحمى مثلا أو لتسهيل الولادة، أو للرمد أو الشقيقة أو حبّ الشباب إلى ما هنالك...
