كثيرة هي المعاجم التي تشرح معاني الكلمات وتوضح معناها غير أنها لا تخلو من بعض التعقيد والصعوبة. لكن هذا المعجم الذي ينفرد بكونه معجماً سهل الاستعمال يوفر جهد الباحث ووقته فهو يجمع بين دفتيه عدداً وافراً مما هو شائع من أسماء الجنس التي تقبل التعريف بالألف واللام فعمد المؤلف إلى ذكر الاسم بعد أن يعرفه بأل قبل أن يشرح معناه وبحسب وروده في الجملة. كما أنه يورد الكلمة مع إسناده لأفعال لها معتمداً الترتيب الأبجدي، وقد يعمد أحياناً إلى الاختصار ودافعه إلى ذلك الاقتصار على الأسماء التي صحّ معناها وثبتت فصاحتها، من خلال استعمالها مع بعض الأفعال.
وعلى سبيل المثال أنه عندما يأتي إلى ذكر (العين) يورد كل ما له علاقة بالعين، مثل احْتَمَّتِ العين، أرِقَتْ وازمهرّت العين، وأشكلت العين، واغرورقت العين، واكتحلت العين وغير ذلك مما يسهل عملية البحث ويجنب الباحث الملل والرتابة.
