يقسم الكتاب إلى سبعة أقسام جاءت على شكل أسئلة وأجوبة (بين الأستاذ والتلميذ) وهي: القسم الأول: المحاورات القرآنية ونذكر منها: في آن الرسول كان بنفسه معجزة، في الخطابات القرآنية المصدرة بلفظ "قل" .. الخ. القسم الثاني: المحاورات الفلسفية: ونذكر منها: بحث في نفي التثليث (الأقاليم الثلاثة)، في حقيقة توحيد ذات الحق... الخ. القسم الثالث: المحاورات العرفانية، ونذكر منها: كيفية نزول الوحي على رسول الله، رؤيا أمير المؤمنين للخضر وتعليم الإسم الأعظم.. الخ. القسم الرابع: المحاورات الأخلاقية ونذكر منها: قصة الدرويش علي والضيف الوارد عليه. القسم الخامس: المحاورات العلمية ونذكر منها: في حقيقة خلق الملائكة والروح . القسم السادس: المحاورات التاريخية: ونذكر منها: تاريح جمع القرآن من قبل عثمان ووفاة عبد الله بن مسعود، كيفية نزول التوراة على النبي موسى ونزول الإنجيل على النبي عيسى.. الخ. أما القسم السابع والأخير فيتضمن حوارات وقصص سلوكية وعرفانية بين الأستاذ والتلميذ وأهمها قصة الفضيل بن عياض...
