هذه الرواية وليدة أحداث بعض شخصياتها حقيقي، لمَّا حدث زلزال تسونامي في 26/12/2004 كنت في مدارس (شنا) في الهند، ورأيت كثيراً من تفاصيل الكارثة التي امتصّت الهند جزءاً منها.
أمّا الرحلة إلى أندونيسيا في البحر فهي حقيقيّة أيضاً حتّى بعض التفاصيل التي استقيتها من أبطالها ومن بينهم ناران.
إن تغوص في أحداث تبدو غير مألوفة للبعض لا يعني إطلاقاً أنّ هذه الأحداث غير مهمّة أو غير جديرة بالمتابعة، بالعكس يجب علينا أن نتابع الجديد وغير المألوف والمدهش أحياناً لندخل في أعماق الطاقة التي وهبها الله تعالى للإنسان، وهي طاقة هائلة عبّر عنها ابن عربي بقصيدة منها هذا البيت: "وتحسبُ أنّك جِرْمٌ صغير... وفيكَ انطوى العالَمُ الأكبر".
