تصحّح وضع الحركة الوطنية الفلسطينية كثيرًا، منذ مطلع ثلاثينيات القرن العشرين، فاعتُبِر الانتداب البريطانى «أُس البلاء»، والصهيونية مجرّد ذيل له، فيما أخلى التّوسُّل والتسوُّل مكانهما للمظاهرات الصدامية، التى تأكّد عقمها ، سريعًا، فغدا الكفاح المسلّح حتميًّا، لكن أيًّا من قادة الحركة الوطنية الفلسطينية لم يتقدّم لالتقاطه. هنا تقدّم شيخٌ وطنىٌ جسور، لم يصطنع حاجزًا بين المسجد والوطن، ولم يحتكِم للإنجليز فى صراعه مع الصهاينة، ولم يتوهّم فى جدوى المذكِّرة، والوفد، والمؤتمر. فامتشق الكفاح المسلح فى وجه أعداء الأمة، وغدا شيخنا رائدًا لهذا الشكل الكفاحى ، فى فلسطين، فضلًا عن أن لاهوت التحرير، والبؤرة الثورية، يعود الفضل فيهما للشيخ نفسه، وإن انتميا لغيره من الأجانب. إنه الشيخ عز الدين القسّام، ابن بلدة جبلة، التابعة للاذقية، شمال غربى سوريا، وهو الذى قدّم تجربةً فزّةً، قام هذا الكتاب بتسجيلها، بمناسبة مرور 75 سنة على استشهاد القسام (20/11/1935).
