تخصّصت في القضايا العربية والإسلامية على الصعيدين الثقافي والسياسي، واهتمت باللغة الإيطالية والأدب، وحازت منحة تبادل ثقافي لمدة سنة فأقامت 15 عاماً. كما حازت دبلوم أدب إنكليزي من جامعة ميلانو، ودرَّست فيها.
استقالت من التعليم وتفرّغت للسياسة بشكل كامل، وغدت ناشطة سياسية على مدى السنوات العشرين السابقة. عملت مع صحيفة أمريكية أسبوعية ونشرت مئات المقالات فيها. ومنذ عام 2007، وهي تكتب بصورة دائمة في الصحيفة الإ لكترونيةwww.globalresearch.ca وفي الصحيفة الألمانية .Arab Forum " تكتب الباحثة الجديّة في شؤون الشرق الأوسط والناشطة والملتزمة في حقل حقوق الإنسان بتفصيل عن جهودها الحثيثة لتخفيف معاناة أطفال العراق من ضحايا الحصار الأميركي عن طريق جسر جوي برعاية دولية، وهي ترى شبهاً أكيداً بين مخطط الافناء الطوراني ضد الأرمن في أواخر العهد العثماني الذي نجا أبواها منه بفضل أصدقاء مسلمين أتراك، وبين كل من سياسة الرئيس بوش الإبن تجاه العراق والمشروع الصهيوني عموماً في فلسطين وبخاصة حصار إسرائيل لقطاع غزة وحربها الأخيرة عليه."البروفيسور وليد خالدي
