"فتوح مصر وأخبارها" كتاب يروي جزءاً من تاريخ مصر منذ نزول إبراهيم عليه السلام مروراً إلى الفتوحات الإسلامية. وهو العاشر من سلسلة "صفحات من تاريخ مصر". والكتاب هو واحد من المصادر التاريخية الهامة التي إليها يعود الباحث والدارس في المجالي التاريخ المصري قبل وإبان الفتح الإسلامي والأحداث التاريخية التي تعاقبت على مصر وهذه لمحة عن أهم الأحداث التاريخية والمنعطفات التاريخية الهامة التي تمّ سردها في هذا الكتاب: وصية وصية رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بالقبط، بعض فضائل مصر، نزول القبط بمصر وسكناهم بها، دخول إبراهيم مصر، ظفر العمالقة بمصر وأمر يوسف، ذكر استنباط الفيّوم، دخول أهل يوسف مصر ووفاة يعقوب عليه السلام ودفنه، ملوك مصر بعد زمن يوسف عليه السلام، خروج بني إسرائيل من مصر... بناء الإسكندرية، كتاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى المقوقس، سبب دخول عمرو بن العاص مصر، فتح مصر، مقاسمة عمر بن الخطاب العمال، ذكر الجزية، ذكر استبطاء عمر بن الخطاب عمرو بن العاص في "الخراج"، حفر خليج أمير المؤمنين، فتح الفيوم، فتح برقة...، استئذان عمرو بن العاص عمر بن الخطاب في غزو أفريقية، عزل عمرو بن العاص... وصية عمرو بن العاص عند موته، فتح أفريقية، قضاة مصر... إلى ما هنالك من الأحداث التي سردها المؤلف والتي شملت أيضاً، بالإضافة إلى ما يتعلق بمصر من أحداث، فتح الأندلس. بالإضافة إلى ذلك فقد احتوى الكتاب على تراجم وجداول ببليوغرافية لأهم الأعلام والرجال الذين اقترنت أسماءهم بتلك الفترات التاريخية من تاريخ مصر.
