لقصة حى بن يقظان قصة مشوقة.. ففى البدء كانت لمعةً خافتة، برقت فى مدرسة الإسكندرية الفلسفية القديمة، على شكل نص قصصى موغل فى الرمزية، سرعان ما أوغل فى النسيان مع انطماس تراث الإسكندرية القديمة. ومضت السنون، بل القرون، حتى جاء الشيخ الرئيس أبو على ابن سينا وكان ممن أحاطوا بالتراث الفلسفى القديم، ومن حلقوا به فى فضاءات أرحب. وكانت حياته حافلةً بمتناقضات الدنيا وتقلباتها، فهو آونةً يعتلى كرسى الوزارة، وآونةً يُحبس فى السجون! وبينما ابن سينا فى سجنه بقلعة همدان إذ تلتمع فى ذهنه الوقاد قصة.. فيكتب أول صياغة عربية لحى بن يقظان.
وطارت قصة حى بن يقظان من بين قضبان سجن ابن سينا، وسمت إلى ارتفاعات شاهقة فى تراثنا العربى، فتناقلها النساخ واقتحم مفاوزها الشراح. ومن بعد ابن سينا بقرنين، يلتقط ابن طفيل القصة، فيستبقى عنوانها، ويعيد كتابتها على نحوٍ جديد، يخرج بها من إطار القصة إلى عالم الرواية ومن رواية ابن طفيل، يتخذ حى بن يقظان سبيله، سرباً، إلى الأدب الأوروبى.
وقريباً من زمن ابن طفيل، كان زمان الشاب العجيب، الملقب بشيخ الإشراق شهاب الدين السهروردى.. وكأننا بالسهروردى، وقد أراد أن يجعل من قصة ابن سينا الفصل الأول من عملٍ إبداعىً أطول، فيكتب هو الفصل الثانى من حى بن يقظان، ويجعله بعنوان: الغربة الغربية.
ويمضى زمننا الإبداعى المتواصل، حتى يصل إلى علامةٍ بارزة فى التراث العربى الإسلامى، هو العلامة ابن النفيس؛ فنراه يعاود الكتابة فى الإطار الروائى لحى بن يقظان، مخالفاً العنوان والمحتوى، فى قصته فاضل بن ناطق.. التى رواها عن الرجل المسمى كامل.
وتجدر الإشارة، أخيراً، إلى أننى اعتمدت فى هذا الكتاب، على جملة أصول هى فى واقع الأمر كتب مطبوعة، لكننى عاملتها معاملة المخطوطة. وهذا ينسحب على القسم الثانى من الكتاب، حيث قدمت النصوص الأربعة، وينسحب أيضاً على القسم الأول منه، حيث أوردت التراجم الوافية للمبدعين الأربعة الذين صاغوا حى ابن يقظان فى تراثنا العربى.
