لقد عرف المغرب الأقصى عبر عصوره علماء أفذاذ، في مختلف العلوم والفنون، في القراءات، والحديث، والفقه، وأصوله، والتفسير، والعربية، والبيان، والتاريخ، والجغرافيا، والمواريث، والتوقيت، والطب؛ وغير ذلك من التخصصات التي ألّفوا فيها، وحرروها.
وقد كُتبت حول هؤلاء العلماء الكثير من الكتب، سواء وضعت لمجموعة من العلماء، أو وضعت في ترجمة عالم معيّن كان له تأثير في مجال من المجالات...
ومن هذا الصنف الأخير كتاب "تنوير الصدور بالتعريف بسيدي الحاج لحسن كنبور "الشيخ العلامة القاضي عبد السلام الهواري، وهي في ترجمة شيخه الشهير العلاّمة المقرئ المحدث المشارك: أبي علي لحسن بن محمد بن أحمد بن عبد العزيز المعروف بــ "كنبور - بكاف معقودة - الوريجليّ الأصل، اللّجائيّ المولد والقرار.
ومن المعلوم أن تراجم العلماء والنبلاء والصلحاء فنّ من الفنون التي تقرّ بها العيون، وبذكر محاسنهم، وشمائلهم، وفواضلهم، ومزاياهم، ومواهبهم تتنزل الرحمات الإلهية.
وهذا الكتاب مهم في بابه؛ فقد عرّف فيه المؤلف بالشيخ لحسن كنبور، فذكر اسمه ونسبه، وأوصافه، ومشاركته في العلوم، وطلبه للعلم، ومشايخه وتلاميذه، ومؤلفاته، وأحواله، وزهده، وأخباره مع الملوك، وثناء الناس عليه، وكراماته، ووفاته، ومكان دفنه، وما قيل في رثائه، وغير ذلك.
هذا ويعتبر هذا الكتاب معتمد في التراحم، وسير العلماء، وتاريخ المغرب الأقصى، لقد اعتمد عليه الحافظ محمد عبد الحيّ الكتّانيّ في كتابه "فهرس الفهارس"، والمسند عبد الحفيظ الفاسيّ في كتابه "رياض الجنة"، والمؤرخ عبد السلام ابن سوده في كتابيه "دليل مؤرخ المغرب الأقصى"، و"إتحاف المطالع"، وغيرهم.
هذا وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن هذا الكتاب لم يطبع من قبل، لذا حرص المحقق على الحصول على نسخة الخطيّة، فتمكن من الحصول على نسختين خطيتين من الخزانة العامة بالرباط، ونسخة ثالثة مصورة من مكتبة الشيخ محمد السحّابي، ثم عمل على تحقيقه، وجاءت عملية التحقيق على الشكل الآتي: 1-تقديم ترجمة المؤلف عبد السلام الهواري، 2-تقديم ترجمة للمُتَرْجَم له لحسن كنبور، 3-التعريف بالكتاب، 4-ذكر أسانيده إلى مؤلف الكتاب وإلى المترجم، 5-بيان منهجيته في التحقيق، بالإضافة إلى ذلك، عمد المحقق إلى إلحاق الكتاب بملحقين: الأول: لنصّ فتوى الشيخ المقرئ لحسن كنبور في شأن سجود التلاوة، والثاني: لنصّ قصيدة في مدح الشيخ لحسن كنبور من إنشاء الشيخ الشريف حسين بن محمد بن الطيّب بحاجي قاضي بين زروال في تلك الفترة.
