يصف هذا البحث ظروف عيش النساء اللواتي اخترن العمل الجنسي كاستراتيجية حيوية في المغرب. وقد أنجز في فضاء مدينة الدار البيضاء، العاصمة الاقتصادية وأكبر مدينة مغربية بتعداد سكانها الذي يبلغ ما بين أربعة وخمسة ملايين نسمة. إنها مغرب صغير، يضم ساكنة نازحة، مع وجود مفارقات بينة فيها بين المجتمع «الغني» والمجتمع«الفقير». مدينة تنتمي إلى بلد نام توجد فيه أحياء قصديرية، وواحات من القصور، وأسواق سرية غير شرعية، واقتصاد بقاء(في العيش)، ومخدرات، وأطفال شوارع.إن الدار البيضاء تجسد الواقع الاجتماعي للمغرب الراهن، المتحول،غير التقليدي،لكنه مغرب المجتمع المقاوم في الوقت ذاته للتغيير. كما يهدف النقاش، الذي تم مع العاملات الجنسيات، إلى توعيتهن بالأسباب التي تجعلهن موصومات ﻜ«نساء سيئات». ويمكن لهذا الوعي الجديد أن يمدهن بقدرة أكبر من أجل العمل على تغيير وتحسين ظروف عيشهن الخاصة. كما تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إشراك المجتمع كله في التفكير في إشكالية العمل الجنسي، حتى يتسنى للمجتمع أن يفهم ويستوعب حاجياته الخاصة في التعبير و في التغيير.
