مشروعنا هذا مشروع ترجمة نصوص مسرحية وتقديمها- يحاول سد ثغرات في الترجمة، فحركة الترجمة لا يمكن أن تكون أمينة دائماً، بمعنى أن تكون شاملة لما يصدر، خاصة إذا لم تكن مبرمجة أو نابعة من مشروع محدد، فهي غالباً انتقائية واعتباطية تبعاً لرغبة المترجم أو لما يمكن أن يتوفر بين يديه، لهذا تبقى الصورة ناقصة بالنسبة لمن لا يتمكن من قراءة النصوص بلغتها الأم أو بالنسبة لمن ليس لديه إمكانية متابعة ما يصدر هنا وهناك.
وعندما نقترح اليوم هذه الأنتولوجيا، وهي مجموعة نصوص من المسرح الفرنسي كُتب أغلبها في الثالث الأخير من القرن العشرين، نحاول أن نُعرِّف القارئ العربي بجزء أساسي من المشهد الإجمالي لمسرح القرن العشرين، ذلك الذي نجهله أو نتجاهله بسبب غياب الترجمات أو قلتها. وعندما نقول المسرح الفرنسي المعاصر نقصد ما كتب في العقدين الأخيرين من القرن العشرين أو ما يكتب حالياً وهو مؤشر عن المسرح العالمي والأوروبي بشكل عام. ولكي يبدو المشهد المسرحي أشمل وأكثر دقة سنطرح في هذه الأنتولوجيا المسرح الذي يلي ما سمي بالمسرح الطليعي في الخمسينات من القرن الماضي وسمي بمسرح العبث، وما تلاه أو واكبه من كتابات جان جينيه، فرانسوا بييدو، ثم مسرح الحياة اليومية، ممثلاً في فرنسا بمسرح ميشيل فينافير الذي لا يزال يكتب اليوم.
