بدأت رحلة الكاتب محمد آصف سلطان زاده مع الكتابة بمجموعته القصصية (من الهروب الى التيه) التي نشرت في طهران عام 2000، وتتالت بعدها أعماله الأخرى ومنها: لا يحلو نوروز إلا في كابل (قصص قصيرة) طهران 2003. الآن الدنمارك (قصص قصيرة) طهران 2005. أنت الذي وطنك ليس هنا ( قصص قصيرة)، طهران 2007. نشرت له عدة روايات في الدنمارك حيث يعيش حالياً، ومنها: جحيم عدن (رواية)، 2009 وسفر الخروج (رواية)، 2011.
