يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن سيرة حياة سلمان الفارسي المحمدي (توفي سنة 36ه) "ولد سلمان في قرية "جي" التابعة إدارياً لأصفهان، من أبوين فارسيين – اسم أبيه "خشفوذان" من ولد منوجهر الملك، وقد سماه والده "روزبة"، وكان له محباً، وبه رفيقاً، وعليه حانياً".
يسرد الكتاب القصة الكاملة لسليمان الفارسي المحمدي واعتناقه للإسلام على يد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. يبدأ الكتاب بنبذة عن سلمان (ولادته – وإسمه – ونشأته) مروراً بزواجه وأولاده، وفضائله، وكراماته، وحياته في عهد رسول الله سلى الله عليه وسلم، وذكره في القرآن الكريم (سليمان عليه السلام في القرآن) ودعوته إلى الحق وأحاديثه عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وخطبه وإحرازه (أدعية) وكلمات في حق سلمان وردت في الكتب المسندة للفريقين السنة والشيعة على قاعدة "سلمان منا أهل البيت" للشيخ المفيد.
يستد الكتاب في مادته إلى أحاديث مروية في كتب الفريقين السنة والشيعة موثقة ومسندة عند الأوائل والمتأخرين وردت في الكتاب باللغتين العربية والفرنسية.
من الكتاب وتحت عنوان (الرسول وأهل بيته يعلمون سلمان) نقرأ:
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لسلمان: يا سلمان ! عليك بقراءة القرآن، فإن قراءته كفارة للذنوب، وسترٌ من النار، وأمان من العذاب، المؤمن إذا قرأ القرآن نظر الله إليه بالرحمة، يا سلمان! المؤمن إذا قرأ القرآن فتح الله عليه أبواب الرحمة، فإنه ليس شيء بعد تملك العلم أحبّ إلى الله من قراءة القرآن، وإن أكرم العباد على الله، بعد الأنبياء، العلماء، ثم حملة القرآن، يخرجون من الدنيا كما يخرج الأنبياء، ويُحشرون في قبورهم مع الأنبياء، ويمرون على الصراط مع الأنبياء، ويأخذون ثواب الأنبياء، فطوبى لطالب العلم، وحامل القرآن مما لهم عند الله من الكرامة" من كتاب "سلمان منا أهل البيت" للأستاذ محمد علي اسبر.
