في كتابها "الإمام صاحب الزمان.. المهدي المنتظر" اعتبرت الكاتبة "كوثر شاهين" أن الدين الإسلامي أكد حقيقة صاحب الزمان، الإمام الثاني عشر المهدي المنتظر فهو من الذين اختارهم الله وأعلنهم النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم) قادة للأمة وجعل الإعتقاد بهم جزء لا يتجزأ من دين الإسلام ومعتقداته المنبثقة عن القرآن الكريم والسنَة المطهرة، والمنكر لذلك كالمنكر لأسس الدين وما يؤكد على ذلك باعتقاد الكاتبة أن يطون الكتب تحتوي الكثير الكثير عن الإمام المنتظر ومنها كتاب (البرهان في علامات مهدي آخر الزمان للمتقي الهندي) فلو ألقينا نظرة على هذا الكتاب لوجدنا فتاوى المذاهب الأربعة واتفاقهم على تواتر الأحاديث عن المهدي. ففي كل المذاهب نلمس الإعتقاد بحتمية الظهور في آخر الزمان وأنه من عشرة النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم)...
يقسم الكتاب إلى ثلاثة عشر باباً ويتضمن كل باب عدة فصول تقسم مادة الفصل وتنبثق عن موضوعه الرئيسي ومنها: لماذا سمي بالمهدي؟، بيان الأئمة الاثني عشر، الآيات والأحاديث الواردة في الإمام المهدي...إلخ.
