وبالعودة لأقسام هذا الكتاب نجد أنه يحتوي على مقدمة وأربعة أجزاء وهي كما يلي: المقدمة جاءت في البكاء على موتى المؤمنين، جواز رثائهم، تلاوة مناقبهم وآثار هم، إقامة المجالس العزائية حزناً عليهم، الإنفاق عنهم في وجوه البر، الجزء الأول في هدى النبي وسيرته صلى الله عليه وسلم منذ نشأ حتى اختاره الله لدار كرامته. الجزء الثاني في أحوال أمير المؤمنين وسيرة نساء العاملين، ومجتباهما أبي محمد البسط الأكبر سيد شباب أهل الجنة، وقد اشتمل على سيرتهم ومناقبهم وفضائلهم عليهم السلام. الجزء الثالث: خاص بسيد الشهداء. الجزء الرابع: في التسعة في أبنائه المعصومين عليهم السلام.
