هذا كتاب نفيس في بابه, متفرد في موضوعه, جمع فيه مؤلفه عدداً كبيراً من تراجم رجال الطريقة الشاذلية, التي هي شعبة من شعب رجال التصوف. وقد ذكر عدداً من تراجم رجال المغرب التي لا نجد لها ذكراً في الكتب, بالإضافة إلى إيراد أخبار قلما توجد في كتب تراجم الرجال, مضيفاً إليها إلماعات تعطي إنارة لجوانب الشخصيات, لا توجد إلا بين دفتي هذا المؤلف. وكان مما تناوله الكتاب من مواضيع ما يلي: ما يتعلق بفضائل رجال الطريقة, ومناقبهم, ومحبتهم, وتوقيرهم, وزيارة أضرحتهم, ومصاحبتهم. كما تناول ما يتعلق بتراجم رجال الطريقة ومناقبهم, وهو المقصود من الكتاب, مرتباً ترتيباً تاريخياً.إلى جانب هذا تحدث المؤلف عن المشايخ الذين اجتمع بهم, من العقد الثالث من القرن الرابع عشر وما يليه. وختمه بقصيدة أسماها: التوسلات العلية برجال الطائفة الشاذلية قدس الله أسرارهم العلية.
