البارحة فقط نظرني جيدًا وخبط بقدمه موضع غرفتي.. ففتحت له الباب منشرحًا على غير عادتي. قال: (هل أحد عندك..؟) ولما رأني منشرحًا على غير العادة. ولم أدعه يدخل.. خطى بخطواته الفقيرة عائدًا.. وقبل أن يدخل التفت إلي لكنني أجزم أن بعينيه كانت تتكور بعض الحصى. مسكها قبل أن ينفرط عقدها. ولم تنحدر دموعه إلا حينما أصبح وحده داخل غرفته. فكانت حصوات عينيه تقع في أرض الغرفة. فأسمع لها ارتطامًا يوشك أن يفقدني القدرة على الكلام.. غير أنني في هذه اللحظة كنت أشتهي فقط البكاء في حضنه.
