في هذا الكتاب يجمع السيد أحمد شكر الحسني أحاديث وروايات وحقائق عن معاجز وكرامات الإمام علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه، وذلك بالإستناد إلى جملة كتب منها: بحار الأنوار للعلامة المجلسي ودار السلام وإثبات الهداة وغيرها من المصادر، وقد استهلها بفضائل الإمام علي وثواب العمل بها والإستماع إليها وكتابتها، لذلك عمل المؤلف على سردها تحت عناوين مختلفة في الكتاب بغية تقديمها للقارئ المسلم لما تحتويه من الفوائد والكرامات تحت عناوين مختلفة في الكتاب بغية تقديمها للقارئ المسلم لما تحتويه من الفوائد والكرامات والحكم النبيلة التي تبرز مكانة الإمام رضي الله عنه ودوره في خدمة رسالة الإسلام والإيمان بها وفيها: روي عن أمير المؤمنين أنه قال: "سلوني قبل أن تفقدوني فأني ميت عن قريب أو مقتول، بل قتلاً ما ينتظر أشقاها أن يخصب هذه بدم وضرب بيده إلى لحيته" وفيها أيضاً ما قاله الحسن الديلمي في الإرشاد: وأما أخبار عليَ بالغيب فكثير، وهي معجزة عظيمة دالة على إمامته، فمنها: أنه لما بويع بذي قار قال: يأتيكم من قبل الكوفة ألف رجل ولا ينقصون رجلاً ولا يزيدون رجلاً آخرهم أويس القرني، فأحصوهم فكان كما قال" وفيها أيضاً عن أمير المؤمنين أنه بكي عند شط الفرات، فلما سأل قال: ... وهذه أرض كرب وبلاء، يدفن فيها الحسين وتسعة عشر رجلاً كلهم من ولدي وولد فاطمة، وذكر الحديث وفيه أنه طلب بعر الظباء فوجده، فأخذ البعر فصره في ردائه وأمرني أن أصرها كذلك ثم قال: يا ابن عباس إذا رأيتها تنفجر دماً عبيطاً فاعلم ان ابا عبد الله قد قتل ودفن بها (الحديث)".
هذه المعاجز وغيرها من كرامات ورؤى اختصي بها الله تعالى الإمام علي رضي الله عنه سيجدها القارئ لهذا الكتاب تحت العناوين الآتية: "عمور بن نور على قبر أمير المؤمينن"، "الطيران على قبة المشهد"، "أمير المؤمنين عند شط الفرات"، "أمير المؤمنين يدفع الصخرة بيده المباركة"، "أمير المؤمنين وإعادة بصر امرأة"، "الإخبار بعدم عبور الخوارج النهر"، (...) وعناوين أخرى ذات صلة.
