في كتاب الأول الصادر في مايو 2007 بعنوان "الإسلام بين التشدد البدوي والتسامح الزراعي" والذي تعرضنا فيه لجذور الحركة الوهابية وكيفية انتشار هذا الفكر المتشدد، وتعرضنا أيضاً إلى عناوين رئيسية مختصرة لكيفية تطوير الخطاب الديني، والذي تنبأنا فيه بوصول الإسلام السياسي إلى حكم مصر خلال خمسة سنوات "وقد حدث في نفس الزمن الذي حددناه" وفي كتابنا الثاني الصادر من مارس 2008 بعنوان: "التراث العبء" لبعض أمثلة من التراث التي تقف عائقاً أمام الفكر النقدي الحديث وعلى رأسها تراث العفاريت.
نقدم في هذا الكتاب دراسة موسعة عن كيفية تطوير الخطاب الديني والذي هو همي الأكبر وشاغلي الأعظم من خلال رؤية نقدية وفي نفس الوقت تراثية نحاول فيها التوفيق بين الأصالة والحداثة.
