يُعدُّ تحريرُ المصطلحات الخاصّة بكلٍّ فنٍّ من الفنون وضبطُ حُدودِها من أولويّات البحث المعاصر الذي يروم الوصولَ إلى غاياته التواصليّة في عصر الإنفتاح المعرفيِّ، بما يَضمَنُ وضوح المفاهيم ويدرأ الخفاء والإبهام، ويهيِّئُ شرطَ المانعيّة الجامعيّة للمنظومة المصطلحيَّة الخاصَّة بذلك الفنّ.
وكان أوّلُ الفكرةِ وآخِرُ العملِ في هذا الكتاب محاولةَ ضبط مظاهر التداخُلِ والتعدُّدِ في المصطلح النحويّ العربيّ، بتجليةِ شبكةِ العلاقاتِ الدلاليّةِ التي ترتبطُ بِها المصطلحاتُ النحويّةُ، إشتراكاً وترادُفاً، عُموماً وخُصوصاً، تسلسلاً وترتيباً وغير ذلك، وتأشيرِ مواطنِ اللَّبسِ الحاصلِ والمتوقَّعِ بسببِ التداخُلِ.
وفكرةُ الدراسة في هذا الكتاب منصبَّةٌ، منهجاً، على إيجادِ قسمةٍ دلاليّةٍ - نحويّةٍ للِكَلمِ، تُراعَى فيها مُعطيّاتُ النظريَّةِ المعجميَّةِ التي تَفصِلُ المفرداتِ المنتميةَ إلى المجموعة النحويَّةِ المغلقةِ التي تُؤَدِّي المعاني الوظيفيَّة في الكلامِ من أدواتٍ ومُبهَماتٍ، عن تلكَ التي تنتمي إلى المجموعةِ المعجميَّةِ المفتوحةِ القابلة للإشتقاقِ والتوسُّعِ من أسماءٍ وأفعالٍ، ووضعِ مُشَجَّرٍ دلاليَّ ينتظمُ المصطلحاتِ النحويّةَ لِعرضِها في سياقِها اللغويّ وحقلِها الدلاليِّ.
ولا ريبَ في أنَّ الباحثَ العربيَّ في علم المصطلح النحويِّ يَقِفُ وجهاً لوجهٍ بإزاءٍ إرثٍ مصطلحيِّ ضخم، من غيرِ أن تُسعِفَهُ الدراساتُ التي تختصُّ بالتداخُلاتِ الدلاليَّةِ، وتتبَّعُ تطوُّرَ كلِّ مصطلحٍ، وتضعُ كُلاًّ مِن تلك المصطلحاتِ في حقلِهِ الملائم؛ ليكونَ فيها عونٌ وعُدَّةٌ في فتح مغاليقِهِ وتذليلِ صِعابِهِ، وقد ابتغَيتُ أن أُدليَ بِدَلوٍ في هذا المضمارِ، فسعى أن أكونَ قد وُفِّقْتُ، واللهُ مِن وراءِ القصْدِ.
