هوذا شعر يمكن وصفه بأنه الطرف الآخر، مقابل الشعر العربي في اتجاهه الغالب، ويكاد أن يكون نقيضاً. إنه شعر المادة والأشياء. تتسع له، يقيناً لغتنا. لكن ربما يضيق له مفهومنا. فهو ليس ذاتياً بالدلالة التي نضيفها عادةً، على هذه الكلمة، وليس غنائياً كما درجنا على فهم هذا المصطلح، وإذا كان الشاعر الذاتي، وفقاً لهذا المدلول، يخاطب الآخر عبر الفكرة أو العاطفة فإن صاحب هذا الشعر، غيللفيك، يخاطبه عبر الشيء، أو عبر المادية العالم. اللغة، في الحالة الأولى، مثقلة بأفكار الذات أو عواطفها، وهي في الحالة الثانية، مليئة بالأشياء وانعكاساتها المرئية، المحسوسة, في الأولى، يسيطر وجود الذات، وفي الثانية يتفاعل جدلياً وجودان: الذات والعالم.
