أكد والدى أن الغراب لا ذنب له.. لا فى صوته الذى يشعرنا بالكآبة.. ولا فى لونه الذى يشبه الطين والتراب، فكل ذلك يعود إلى البيئة التى تعيش فيها الطيور والحيوانات، ثم ضرب مثلا على ذلك بالجنود الذين يرتدون الملابس الملطخة بالألوان الصفراء والخضراء والسوداء الداكنة، لكى تتوه أشكالهم فى ألوان الشجر والأرض فلا يكتشفهم العدو.
الغراب- طيلة عمره –لا تشغله آراء الإنسان فيه، فهو سعيد بلونه الذى يزيد عن الأسود المتدرج منه اللون الرمادى. ويؤكد لنفسه أن لونه لا علاقة له بالذكاء.. أو الغباء، ويرى أن لون الأسود فيه شئ من الوقار وعدم البهرجة، مقتنعا أنه لا يعمل مهرجا فى السيرك لكى يرتدى الألوان الزاهية، ويستمتع وهو يغنى بصوته الغليظ الخشن الذى يشبه الخبز الجاف، ويعجبه غناؤه الحاد الذى يبتعد عن غناء بعض الطيور التى تغنى وهى تتراقص فى صخب وفوضى، كما تعجبه مشيته الراقصة التى تشبه رقص القرصان الأعرج.
