رواية "محمد يحبني" من الروايات الجميلة التي تناولت الحياة المغربية، في بساطتها وعفويتها. حياة الهامش التي تزخر بالمعطيات الأديبة والإنسانية. تجري أحداث الرواية في قرية "سيدي إفني"، رفقة البحر والرمل والأسماك والصيادين والناس البسطاء الذين يمثلهم محمد القوي، محمد العجيب.
أحداث رغم وقائعيتها وحقائقيتها، فهي مرتبطة بمادة نفسية غزيرة بقيادة ضمير المتكلم "أنا". لذلك يمكن اعتبار "محمد يحبني" من أقوى الروايات الذاتي في الأدب الفرنسي الحديث. رواية تخبرنا بطريقة جيدة كيف يعيش الناس في "سيدي أفني".
