ربما دفعنى إلى إعداد هذا الكتاب العمل مع المتحكمات الدقيقة Microcontrollers إذ توفر لغة التجميع فرصة ممتازة لمعرفة عمل وطبيعة وظائف مكونات الكمبيوتر والمتحكمات Microcontrollers، وتسمح بتطوير البرمجيات بقوة، وتوفر تحكما كاملا فى كل مكونات الكمبيوتر والمتحكمات، كما أن برامجها أصغر وأسرع، ويحتوى الكتاب على تسعة عشر فصلا أولها تمهيد البرمجة بلغة التجميع، والثانى يتناول العتاد Hardware والبرمجة Software، والثالث يشرح برنامج المصحح Debug، وفى الرابع مقدمة البرمجة بلغة التجميع، ويتناول الفصل الخامس تعريف ونقل البيانات DEFINING AND MOVING DATA.
يشرح الفصل السادس تحكم البرامج بالقفز والحلقات، ويقدم السابع مقدمة لمعالجة الشاشة ولوحة المفاتيح SCREEN AND KEYBOARD، يستكملها الفصل الثامن بالمعالجة المتقدمة للشاشة ADVANCED SCREEN PROCESSING، ويضيف إليها الفصل التاسع المعالجة المتقدمة للوحة المفاتيح ADVANCED KEYBOARD PROCESSING، ويحتوى الفصل العاشر السلاسل STRINGS والجداول TABLES، ويحتوى الفصل الحادى عشر العمليات الحسابية، بينما يتعرض الفضل الثانى عشر لتنظيم تخزين الأقراص DISK STORAGE ORGANIZATION ويضيف إليها الفصل الثالث عشر معالجة الأقراص بوظائف دوس الموسعة وخدمات نظام الدخل الخرج الأساسى.
يتناول الفصل الرابع عشر الطباعة ومعالجة الفأرة، ويحتوى الفصل الخامس عشر الماكرو MACRO، والربط مع البرامج الفرعية، ويعرض الفصل السادس عشر إدارة ذاكرة نظام دوس DOS MEMORY MANAGEMENT، ويشرح الفصل السابع عشر المقاطعات ومناطق بيانات نظام BIOS ونظام دوس، وفى الفصلين الأخيرين من الكتاب إجمال العوامل والتوجيهات OPERATORS AND DIRECTIVES فى الفصل الثامن عشر، والتعليمات INSTRUCTIONS فى الفصل التاسع عشر.
