ما جستير في الأدب الأندلسي من جامعة طرابلس سنة 1982 ودكتوراه في التخصص نفسه من المغرب سنة 1994 ، أستاذ الأدب والبحث العلمي في كلية التربية وكلية الدعوة الإسلامية بطرابلس ليبيا ، ودرس في وحدة تحقيق المخطوطات في كلية الأداب بالرباط سنة 2002 ، وأشرف على عدد من بحوث الماجستير والدكتوراه أو ناقشها في ليبيا والمغرب، وعُين خبيراً في منظمة الإيسيسكو ما بين 2001 و2012 ومديرًا للمؤتمرات بجمعية الدعوة الإسلامية لمدة عام واحد ، وعميدا لكلية الدعوة الإسلامية منذ 2013 حتى الآن (2015) له مؤلفات في الأدب الأندلسي، والبحث العلمي، والتاريخ الثقافي الليبي ، ومحاولات شعرية جمعها في ديوان أصداء في زوايا النفس، وله عضوية في مجمع اللغة العربية الليبي والهيئة الاستشارية لموسوعة الكويت للعالم الإسلامي والمجلس العلمي لمعجم الدوحة التاريخي .
