ادعى أعداء البلاد والعباد أن الصوفية غير متشرعة ولا دليل عندهم لا في قليل ولا في كثير. ثقة الناس في الأولياء وفي العلماء جعلتهم لا يسألون كثيراً عن الدليل فكان يكفي الإنسان العامي البسيط أن يسأل الشيخ أو الولي فيجيبه بأبسط عبارة وما على العامي إلا العمل بذلك قوى الظلام تريد أن يتحول كل إنسان متنطع جاهل إلى إمام يفتي ويتحكم في رقاب الخلق ، ولابأس بأن يسفه تاريخ أمة ثابتة ففيها الأنفاس المحمدية .هؤلاء المتبعون لقوى الظلام بَدَّعوا أكابر علماء الأمة من الأئمة مثل: إبن حبان والبيهقي والغزالي وإمام الحرمين والنووي والقرطبي والسيوطي وآلاف آلاف العلماء بَدَّعهم من تسموا باسم السلفية وغيرهم والسلفية منهم براء فالقوم عندهم إبن تيمية الذي أتى في القرن الثامن الهجري هو إسلامهم، فعابوا على الأمة الأخذ بأقوال العلماء المؤتمنين الموثوق فيهم وأخذوا هم من عالم واحد (وتلامذته) بجميع أخطائه. قرون طوال والأمة تثق في الصوفية وعلمائها الكبار، معظم علماء الأمة منذ مئات السنين متصوفة، ما انتكس الإسلام إلا بعد ظهور إبن تيمية، وما احتلت ديار الإسلام احتلالاً كبيراً إلا بعد الخروج على الدولة العثمانية بظهور الدعوة الوهابية.
