امتاز الدين الإسلامي الحنيف في خطاب الكتاب وبيان الرسول وهدى أهل البيت بخصوصية جامعيته لجميع شؤون الإنسان في جميع العصور والأزمان. وذلك ببركة كتاب الله الكريم، وبفضل رسوله العظيم صلى الله عليه وسلم وأهل بيته الأكرمين الذين أنزل الله فيهم آية التطهير وجعلهم حفظة الدين وأوصياء سيد المرسلين، المظهرين لأحكام الشرع المبني. وقد كان أمير المؤمنين وسيد الوصيين الإمام علي باباً لمدينة العلم، علمه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ألف باب من العلم ينفتح من كل باب منها ألف باب وكان مما خصه به الرسول وصاياه الجامعة ومواعظه النافعة. وقد كانت وصاياه صلى الله عليه وسلم له بالمقدار الكثير الذي لم يتحقق نظيره لأي أحد.
وفي هذا الكتاب يعرض المؤلف وصايا الرسول لزوج البتول، والوصية كما يعرفها المؤلف هي العهد الذي يؤخذ على الإنسان في مجال والنصح والحث على الفضائل والأخلاق الحسنة وفعل الخيرات واجتناب المنكرات. والوصايا المقصودة في هذا الكتاب هي العهود والأوامر النواهي والمواعظ والآداب الموجهة من سيدنا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لوصية الإمام أمير المؤمنين علي رضي الله عنه.
