مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ أَشِدَّاءُ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ رُحَمَاءُ بَيْنَهُمْ تَرَاهُمْ رُكَّعًا سُجَّدًا يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًا مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرِضْوَانًا سِيمَاهُمْ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ مِنْ أَثَرِ السُّجُودِ ذَلِكَ مَثَلُهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَمَثَلُهُمْ فِي الْإِنْجِيلِ سورة الفتح
يعرض الكتاب سِيَر ستّينَ من الصحابة الكرام الشهداء، الذين قضوا وهم يقاتلون إلى جانب رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم)، مبرزًا أهمّ تفاصيل حياتهم: إسلامهم، مواقفهم المشرّفة، جهادهم، وصولًا إلى شهادتهم. يتبع ذلك مسردٌ فيه كافّة الصحابة الشهداء، يعرض للروايات المرتبطة بكلّ صحابيّ منهم في حال وجودها، ويكتفي بذكر أسماء الباقين رضوان الله عليهم أجمعين.
إن المرء وهو يستذكر سير هؤلاء الصحابة الشهداء، بعد ما يقرب من خمسة عشر قرنًا على الرسالة النبويّة، لا يسعه إلا أن يتوقف عند مآثرهم وبطولاتهم، وأن يعجب كيف جمعتهم الشهادة والتضحية بالنفس ووحّدهم الإسلام، رغم توزّعهم مشاربَ وأهواءً وقومياتٍ وأعراقًا، فيهم السيّد والمولى، والأبيض والأسود، والعربي والروميّ والفارسيّ والحبشيّ، والغنيّ والفقير... وقد كانت من قبل تسود بينهم العداوة والبغضاء، وتفتك بهم المشاحنات والفتن. وإن دلّ ذلك على شيء فإنما يدلّ على عظمة معلّمهم وقدوتهم محمّد (صلى الله عليه وسلم)، رسول الله إلى العالمين.
"صحابة شهداء" كتابٌ مرجعيٌّ جامعٌ، بلغةٍ مبسّطةٍ، بحيث يكون في متناول الباحث والطالب والقارئ غير المتخصّص على حدٍّ سواء.
