الزهرة عضو في جمعية المرشدات، تتراوح سنها بين السابعة والحادية عشرة. ولجمعية المرشدات أعضاء في أكثر من تسعين بلداً ولكل فتاة، أياً كان لونها أو محل إقامتها، سواءٌ كانت سليمة الجسم أم معاقة، الحق في أن تصبح زهرة شرط أن تكون راغبة في أداء الوعد الثلاثي. وكون الفتاة تعيش في ضيعة صغيرة أو منطقة نائية بعيدة عن المدن لا يحول دون انتمائها إلى هذه المؤسسة العالمية، فثمة زهرات حتى في المزارع الكبيرة النائية في أقاصي أستراليا. وتعقد هؤلاء الزهرات اجتماعات "باقاتهن" بواسطة اللاسلكي والمراسلة البريدية وهما الوسيلتان اللتان يتلقين بهما دراستهن أيضاً.
الزهرة فتاة سعيدة، دائمة النشاط، ولديهما الكثير من الأعمال المسلية والمثيرة للاهتمام، وهي تعقد صداقات كثيرة تساعدها في قضاء وقتها ببهجة ومتعة وعطاء.
