تأتي هذه المجموعة المختارة من أعمال الأديب الأردنيّ الرّاحل عيسى النّاعوري في سياق مشروع ثقافي وطنيّ عربيّ، يسعى لخلق حالة من الوعي بالهويّة الوطنيّة، والبحث في جذورها من خلال الرّواد الأوائل.
يعتبر النّاعوري الّذي اتّخذناه كحلقة أولى في سلسلة هذا المشروع، من روّاد الحركة الإبداعيّة في الأردنّ والوطن العربيّ وعَلماً من أعلامها، في النّقد، والقصّة والرّواية، والشّعر، والتّرجمة، والسّير وغيرها من ألوان الأدب وصنوفه.
قدّم النّاعوريّ نماذج مهمّة من الإبداع في أغلب حقوقه، وهو بذلك أسّس لحالة إبداعيّة شموليّة، قلّ نظيرها في الوطن العربيّ وأٍسهم في وضع اللّبنات الأولى لمعظم أشكال الأجناس الأدبيّة الّتي نراها اليوم.
لقد سعى النّاعوريّ إلى مدّ جسور ثقافيّة بيننا وبين الثّقافات الأخرى، وأسهم بشكلٍ مباشرٍ في تقديم صورة مشرقة عن الحضرة العربية إنطلاقاً من محلّيّتها، وترجم من الآداب الإنسانيّة نماذج أثرت ثقافتنا العربيّة.
