لماذا نشاهد السينما؟ هذا هو السؤال الذي يجب ان نسأله لأنفسنا لنعرف مدى قيمة السينما أو صياغة نفس السؤال بطريقة أخرى ونقول ماذا سينقصنا إذا لم يكن هناك سينما؟.
هل نشاهد السينما لمجرد المتعة وقضاء وقت الفراغ أم نشاهدها بإعتبارها حياة، تجربة جديدة ندخلها لمدة ساعتين ربما نخرج منها بعبرة جديدة، النوع الأول سيظل لا يعلم مدى القيمة الهامة التي تشكلها السينما بحياتنا، أما النوع الثاني فهو ذلك النوع الذي يدرك تماماً معنى السينما ومدى رقيها ومدى أهميتها في تشكيل تجارب جديدة في حياتنا، فالسينما هي تلك الصورة التي تأخذنا من واقع حياتنا إلى واقع آخر ندركه بخيالنا ونسبح فيه جامحين، هو ذلك الفن الغريب الذي يلامس أحاسيسنا ويؤثر بعقولنا.
من الطبيعي أن تكون هذه الأفلام بأنواعها وأشكالها الكثيرة، ووسط كل تلك المغريات في إعلاناتها التي تكلف الملايين، امراً تعقداً يصعب على المشاهد العادي أن يميز بينها، وأن يفرق بين ما هو جيد ومناسب، وما هو سيئ وغير لائق، يصعب أن يعرف ما يستحق المشاهدة وما يكون مجرد هدر للوقت، وهنا تظهر لنا واحدة من ميزات النقاد العديدة، إن الناقد ببساطة هو دليل ومرشّد، وكما يقال: إن كل مشاهد للأفلام يمكن أن يكون ناقداً ولكن هنالك فرق بين الناقد الجيد والناقد السيئ.
إن الكاتب "مهند الجندي" واحد من الذين يتحلون بصفات الناقد المتمكن، وهو أحد كتاب المراجعات الذين كشف عنهم موقع (سينماك)، وخلال مسيرته في تجربة النقد وعطائه الدائم كان مسّتواه يتطور بتسارع رهيب، وما يزال، والمتصفح لمراجعاته يدرك بالضبط كيف يتحلى بسمة الإحاطة بالفيلم، فهو يعطي الفيلم تقييماً متزناً لا يظهر من عبث؛ بل إن هذا التقييم يأتي بعد أن يقلب لنا عناصر الفيلم كل عنصر على حده، بين الجيد منها والرديء، ثم يعيد العناصر إلى مكانها ويتحدث عن الفيلم عامة؛ نحن خير شاهد على هذه العمليات إذ تحدث أمامنا في ما يسطره من كلمات، ويحرص "مهند" على مخاطبة القراء وإخبارهم بالذي سوف يشعرون به، ولماذا يشعرون به، ويحرص أيضاً من الجهة الأخرى أن يتحدث عن نفسه وماذا شعر حينما شاهد الفيلم.
"مهند الجندي" حريص على متابعة أهم الأفلام وكتابة المراجعات حولها، وضمنها في هذا الكتاب يصدر على أمل أن يلقى التوفيق والنجاح، وأن يستمر في عطائه ويواصل تألقه المعهودين.
