في المقدمة والتوضيح ذكر أسباب اختيار هذا الموضوع وأهميته، ووزعت هذه المقدمة على مجموعة من العناوين، هي: المقدمة التي ذكر فيها السبب. مبحث مختصر من القرآن الكريم أبين فيه أهمية التعامل مع مثل هذا الموضوع. بعض الإشارات التاريخية تسهل على القارئ معرفة أبعاد القصة وخلقياتها. حوار مهم مع الفنان الليبي المعروف الأستاذ مختار الأسود يتحدث فيه عن بعض ذكرياته المتعلقة باليهود الليبيين.
في مادة الكتاب (هكذا تحدثوا) مجموعة من القصص والشهادات المنقولة على ألسنة من تحدثوا، وهم المجموعة المختارة من اليهود الليبيين وغيرهم، في محاولة لتوثيق تلك الشهادات والقصص لتقدم للقارئ وليفتح بها أبواب النقاش في مسألة شائكة ومعقدة.
هذه المجموعة المختارة هي: رفائيل لوزون رئيس الجالية اليهودية الليبية في لندن ونائب رئيس جمعية يهود ليبيا في العالم. رفائيل فلاح الكيش رئيس جمعية يهود ليبيا، الدو حبيب يهودي ليبي مقيم في لندن، صمويل الزروق يهودي ليبي يقيم هو وأخواه والعائلة في ليفورنو بإيطاليا، جانكارلو كونسولاندي مسيحي إيطالي ولد في ليبيا وعاش فيها إلى سن العشرين من عمره تقريباً. دانيال فرجون وأبوه إيمليو فرجون، وهما يهوديان إيطاليان من أصول ليبية، رفائيل جناح يهودي ليبي إيطالي في روما.
وفي الخلاصة أجمل لمادة الكتاب للوصول إلى التالي: تعريف اليهودي الليبي كنتيجة، خلل غياب التعدد الثقافي أو تغييبه عن المجتمع الليبي. هذه المادة التوثيقية ستكون مصحوبة بصور ووثائق ومستندات ربما تكون مهمة وتيسر للقارئ مسألة القراءة والمتابعة.
