شهاب الدين يحيى السهروردي ..
أبو الفتوح يحيى بن حبش بن أميرك السهروردي ويلقب بـ "شهاب الدين"، واشتهر بالشيخ المقتول تمييزاً له عن صوفيين آخرين، فيلسوف إشراقي، شافعي المذهب، ولد في سهرورد الواقعة شمال غربي إيران، وقرأ كتب الدين والحكمة ونشأ في مراغة وسافر إلى حلب وبغداد , حيث كان مقتله بأمر صلاح الدين بعد أن نسب البعض إليه الفساد المعتقد ولتوهم صلاح الدين أن السهروردي يفتن ابنه بالكفر والخروج عن الدين وكان مقتله ب قلعة حلب سنة 586 للهجرة.
يجدر الاشارة أنه اختلف في موته الكتاب في تاريخ الفلاسفة فمنهم من ذكر أنه قتل عن طريق الجوع ومنعه من الطعام ومنهم من قال بالسيف كما قيل أنه أحرق لكن اجتمعوا على أنه حكم علية بالإعدام بتهمة الإلحاد والزندقة.
يعد من كبار المتصوفة في زمانه ومن أفقه علماء عصره بأمور الدين والفلسفة والمنطق والحكمة ويسمي مذهبه الذي عرف به "حكمة الإشراق" وله كتاب بهذا الاسم.
ومن كتبه أيضا رسائل في اعتقادات الحكماء وهياكل النور.
إن رسالة "مقامات الصوفية" هي من الأعمال الصغرى لشهاب الدين السهروردي (1155م-1191م)، وهي من أكثر مؤلفاته تمثيلاً لفكره الإشراقي القائم على التأليف بين الفلسفة والتصوف. فالطريقة البحثية الشائعة في فصول الرسالة التي تعالج مسائل من العلمين الطبيعي والإلهي قد أخلت مكانها لمنهج الكشف والذوق وذلك في الفصل الأخير المتضمن تحديداً لبعض مصطلحات الصوفية. ومرد هذا التخلي عن الطريقة البرهانية المعتمدة في فصول الرسالة والأخذ بنقيضها إيمان شيخ الإشراق بأن التزود بطرائق الفلاسفة وإن كان ضرورياً في المراحل الإعدادية الأولى لبلوغ الحقائق الشريفة ومعاينة الأنوار الإلهية، فإن الميل عنه والأخذ بطرائق أهلا لتجريد من المتصوفة يصبح لازماً في المرحلة الأخيرة مت وجه الحكيم إلى القدس ومشاهدة آيات من الملكوت وعليه، "فمقامات الصوفية"، عمل يعكس، بشكل جلي، مقومات فلسفة السهروردي المتعددة الجوانب الفكرية، ويؤلف بينها في وحدة متكاملة.
