كتب الإمام أبي حنيفة هذه القصيدة ليتقرب بها من رسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم ولينشدها بين يديه في أثناء زيارته ولم يطلع عليها أحد فلما وصل إلي المدينة المنورة سمع المؤذن ينشدها علي المئذنة ! فعجب من ذلك وانتظر المؤذن فسأله : لمن هذه القصيدة ؟! قال ك لأبي حنيفة قال : أتعرفه قال: لا قال : وعمن أخذتها؟! قال : في رؤياي أنشدها بين يدي المصطفي صلي الله عليه وسلم فحفظتها وناجيته بها علي المئذنة فدمعت عينا أبي حنيفة .
وها هو ذا شرح وحيد عليها ومؤلف هذا الكتاب هو الشيخ مصطفي بن محمود الوردي تلميذ الشيخ رئيس المدرسين بالمدينة المنورة الفقيه الحنفي المدني يوسف الغزي .
وكان المصنف في فترة خلافه السلطان عبد العزيز بن السلطان محمود الثاني .
