هذا الكتاب للدكتور سامر العاصي يُقدِّم سرديّة تاريخية محايدة لحقبتين عاصفتين من التاريخ الروسي (1917- 2017)، وهو دراسة تضيء جوانب مهمة في الحياة الإجتماعية والسياسية، ويقدِّم كمّا كبيراً من المعلومات التي ظلّت مغفلةً في السرديّات الرسمية، ولم تكن للصورة ان تكتمل من دونها، مثل الماسونية، والدور اليهودي في مسار التاريخ الروسي، إنها سردية بانوراميّة، كتبت بأسلوب أدبي شيِّق.
إنه كتاب غير منحاز إيديولوجيا، أو حزبياً، يتيح للقارئ أن يكوِّن تصوراً شاملاً عن أسباب وعوامل صعود الدولة وسقوطها، ثم نهوضها من جديد، ودور الفرد في ذلك.
