" باشرنا العمل قبل إيجاد المكان والمعدات اللازمة ، واقتصر العمل في البداية على توثيق صور الشهداء وبعض الأعمال الخاصة بالثورة " ولكن بعد معركة الكرامة / آذار 1968 ، شهدت الثورة هجوماً صحفياً عالمياً ، فجاءت الحاجة إلى الصورة الفوتوغرافية ، وحصلنا على مكان للعمل عبارة عن مطبخ في أحد البيوت الذي كان في ذلك الوقت يضم معظم أجهزة الثورة ، فتحوّل المطبخ إلى معمل للطبع والتحميض وللتصوير أيضاً ، وبدأ العمل بكاميرا بسيطة جداً وجهاز تنشيف بدائي يعمل بالكاروسين . وأصبح قسم التصوير يزوّد جهاز إعلام الثورة بصور الأحداث الفلسطينية والعمليات الفدائية لتوزيعها على وكالات الأنباء ، وأخذت صورة الفدائي الفلسطيني تغزو العالم . تميّزت تجربة سينما الثورة بالإبتعاد عن طريق السينما السائدة ، والبحث عن لغة وجماليات سينمائية خاصة بها ، بسيطة وواضحة ومحسوسة للجماهير ، تصوّر الواقع الذي تعيشه الجماهير الشعبية لتساعدها على فهم أوضاعها ومشاكلها ، وتشجعها على مواصلة الكفاح وكشف أساليب الإستعمار والإحتلال السياسية والعسكرية والثقافية ولجأت إلى أساليب مستوحاة من كفاح وثقافة الشعب ، وبالقدرة على الإبداع المقترن بالإنتماء الصادق لقضية شعبهم ، والعمل بروح الجماعة بإهمال مبدأ التخصص الصارم في عمل الفريق . مصطفى أبو علي.
