تركز هذه الدراسة على مسرحيات من استراليا، وكندا والهند وأيرالندا، ونيوزلندا، ودول مختلفة من أفريقيا وأجزاء من جنوب شرق آسيا ، وجزر الكاريبى. وبالنسبة لأيرلندا - وهى اقدم مستعمرة بريطانية- فغالبا ما ينظر إليها باعتبارها ليست جزاء من العالم ما بعد الكواونيالى، ومرجع ذلك جزئيات هو أنها تقع خارج دائرة أوروبا. إلا ان القهر السياسى والإقتصادى الذى عانته أيرلندا على مر القرون على أيدى البريطانيين، ومقاومتها لمثل هذه السيطرة يضعها داخل النموذج ما بعد الكولونيالى. أما عن الولايات المتحدة فيتم تناول الأمبريالية الجديدة التى تنتهجها فى هذه الدراسة. يقع مجال بحثنا فى ثلاث أقسام رئيسية تتعلق بالعرض المسرحى ما بعد الكولونيالى وهى : اللغة الدرامية( الصوتية والبصرية كما يتم عنها من خلال الجسد المؤدى) وتنظيم الفضاء والزمن المسرحيين والتحكم فى المواضعات السردية والدائية للدراما. وتنظيم الفضاء والزمن المسرحيين والتحكم فى المواضعات السردية والدائية للدراما. وداخل هذا الإطار سيتم التركيز بالضرورة على العلائق بين الشكل والمحتوى وهو ما يأخذ فى الاعتبار دائما أى منحى مسَيس فى دراسة المسرح.
