تناول الباحث في هذه الدراسة أحد فنون الكتاب الهامة وهو فن التجليد في إيران في أزهى عصوره وهو العصر التيموري من خلال نشره لمجموعة دفوف (جلود) لمخطوطات أثرية تيمورية محفوظة بدار الكتب المصرية ومتاحف القاهرة ينشر أغلبها لأول مرة في هذه الدراسة، وقسم الباحث دراسته إلى مقدمة وتمهيد وبابين تناول في المقدمة أسباب اختيار الموضوع وأهم الصعوبات التي واجهته ومكونات الدراسة بينما تناول في التمهيد الأسرة التيمورية نشاتها وتاريخها ورعاية أمرائها لفنون الكتاب، على حين اشتمل الباب الأول على ثلاثة فصول تناولت الدراسة الوصفية لمجموعة الدراسة بينما اشتمل الباب الثاني على ثلاثة فصول تناولت الدراسة التحليلية.
والواقع أن الباحث على الرغم من قلة المراجع العربية والأجنبية التي تتحدث عن فن تجليد الكتاب بصفة عامة وعن التجليد التيموري بصفة خاصة إلا أنه وفق توفيقًا كبيرًا في الباب الثاني من الدراسة والذي تضمن ثلاثة فصول تناول من خلالها عدة موضوعات يأتي على رأسها أسباب تطور صناعة تجليد الكتاب في العهد التيموري، وكيفية ابتكار طرق صناعية جديدة خلال هذا العهد فضلًا عن الحديث عن المجلدين في هذا العهد. والواقع أن الباحث قد استطاع من خلال هذه الدراسة التوصل إلى العديد من النتائج على قدر كبير من الأهمية.
