في هذا الكتاب يبحث المؤلف في فصول سبعة العزلة والأصالة لدى الإنسان من خلال سبر أغوار دراسات وأفكار الفلاسفة بنظرة تحليلية نقدية، لينتهي في الفصل الثامن إلى تقديم وجهة نظره حول مسألة الألوهية في عالمنا المعاصر ونقد الإلحاد لكن لا من خلال إقامة أدلّة وبراهين فلسفيته كلامية على ذلك، بل من خلال معالجة سيكولوجية نفسية تكون مقدمة لتلك البراهين، وذلك من خلال ربط مسألة الله تعالى بإطار الأمل البشر، وهذا الأمل يتعلّق بمصير الإنسان وإسعاده في هذه الدنيا دون التطرّق بشكل مباشر للعلّة الأعلى الخالقة للإنسان، ولكن في النهاية يمكن إظهار أنّ الأمل بالله عزّ وجلّ يشتمل على إثبات الله الخالق الحكيم الذي هو خيرٌ للإنسان.
