"عام الديك" لـ "تريزا بوتشكوفا" رواية هي أقرب ما تكون إلي السيرة الذاتية للكاتبة، إعلان صادق لامرأة تفككت حياتها فاخذت تبحث عن القوة التي تمكنها من أن تعيد هذه الحياة مرة أخري إلي سياقها وإلي ما كانت عليه. يعرف التقويم الصيني اثني عشر برجا فلكيا، تحمل جميعها أسماء لحيوانات أو طيور، ومنها برج الديك الذي ولدت في عامه هذه الكاتبة منذ واحد وخمسين عاما، ومنذ فترة قريبة مر هذا العام حيث كان من المتوقع وفقا لهذا البرج أن تحدث إنفراجة في المشكلات التي عانت منها الكاتبة في العام الماضي إلا أن العكس هو الذي حدث لتريزا بوتشكوفا". انهارت حياتها التي كانت مرتبطة بمصير أسرتها القائمة علي أساس مصطنع نتيجة لاختلاف الجينات والطباع، وأيضا بسبب النتائج المترتبة علي تضارب المشاعر والأحاسيس لدي أبنائها بالتبني، وقد وصل هذا التضارب إلي ذروته في فترة المراهقة، وأصبحت حياتها عبارة عن دائرة مفرغة من الأفعال وردود الأفعال التي طالت الجميع، ولم يكن منها مفر ولا مهرب، فرواية "عام الديك" عبارة عن طريق للخلاص من اليأس المطلق إلي شجاعة الحرية.
