لما كان الهدف من وجود الإنسان هو تحقيق العبودية لله عز وجل، وبما أنه سبحانه وتعالى لم يكلنا إلى أنفسنا في تحقيق ذلك، بل أرسل إلينا الرسل، وأيدهم بالوحي الأمين، فلا بد لنا من معرفة وفهم مراميه وأهدافه، وما فيها من التعاليم التي تصلح لنا المعاش والمعاد، فكتاب الله وسنة رسوله "صلى الله عليه وسلم" هما النبعان الصافيان اللذان تكفلا بسعادة الدنيا ونعيم الآخرة لمن تمسك بهما، ولكن لما فسدت السليقة، ودخلت العجمة، وأصابت اللسان آفة اللحن، لم يتسن لكل فرد من أفراد هذه الأمة هذا الفهم، بل اختص بأناس توفرت فيهم شروط وميزات تؤهلم لذلك، فأحاطوا بدقائق علم خاص سموه علم "أصول الفقه"، فلذلك نص العلماء على أن حكم تعلمه فرض كفاية لحاجة الأمة إلى استنباط الأحكام الشرعية للحادثات المتجددة.
وأول من قعد قواعد علم أصول الفقه، وأصل أصوله هو الإمام محمد بن إدريس الشافعي، المجتهد صاحب المذهب في رسالته التي كتبها لعبد الرحمن بن مهدي. ثم تتابع التأليف والتصنيف في هذا العلم إلى أن وصل إلى عصر الإمام جلال الدين الخبازي، وقد من الله علينا بأن وفقنا لإخراج هذا الكتاب الطيب المبارك "المغني في أصول الفقه" للإمام العلامة جلال الدين الخبازي الحنفي، الذي تفنن في تقسيم هذا الكتاب تقسيما مختصرًا ومفيدًا، نفعنا الله ونفع الأمة بهذا الكتاب المبارك.
