فى هذا الكتاب يقول "ناصر المساعيد" فى مقدمة روايته: (هناك من يفهم أسس الحرب بين الشيطان والإنسان، ويستعد لها بدفاع قوي ومتين، ممتلئًا بالإيمان والحب والمودة بهدف الاصطفاف مع من تطحنه ضروس هذه العركة، مساندته في سد نقاط الضعف، التي دخل من خلالها هذا اللعين إلى نفسه، بإصلاح المعوج من الأمور، كي لا تترك أي مساحة صغيرة تجعل أبناء إبليس يجتاحون كل الحواجز التي بيننا وبينهم، فيغيرون نظام الكون، او الحكم من السعادة والاستقرار إلى الاكتئاب الكلي والخراب النفسى..).
اعتمد ناصر المساعيد، في روايته الأولى "من الجاني" على تقنية السرد بلسان الراوي العليم، وبلغة حوار متطورة عبر أحداث أكثر تطورا وتلاحقا، رغم إيقاعها البطيء فى بعض مناطقه..
يقول صاحب الرواية على لسان بطلته "مي" وهي تصف أمها: (ليس للعاطفة أي مكان في قاموس أمي، فهي المرأة الديكتاتورية صاحبة الشخصية الفولاذية، وحقيقة لا أعرف اهي من تقدمت لبديل أبي ام هو الذي تقدم لها بطلب الزواج! زوج أمي المغلوب على أمره، طيب القلب، وكما يقول المصريون "لا يهش ولا ينش" كان أبي يتحرك في المنزل من التلفاز للجرائد، أو الخروج من المنزل للقاء أصدقائه.. هكذا كان يقول، وعندما يعود يوافق على كل ما تقوله بإيماءة من رأسه، أو يدخل حجرته لينام، ربما كان أطيب من اللازم، لم يكن له رأي أو بصمة، فهو دائما وأبدًا يؤيد رأيها...)
المساعيد ينهي روايته، دون أن ينسى مخاطبة قارئه كنوع من التفاعل والمشاركة، ما بعد الوجدانية، أن يبحث معه عن حلول.. ترى هل يكون العلاج النفسي هو الخروج من المأزق بالنسبة لبطلة روايته، هل هناك حلول قانونية أو شرعية، وكيف للمجتمع أن يساهم فى حل مشكلة كان هو نفسه أحد أسبابها، بما رسخه في أذهان الضعفاء والجهلاء من دجل وشعوذة؟
ربما تمنحنا قراءة الرواية بعض الإجابات..
