أما عن خطة بحث هذه الدراسة, فقد جعلتها تتكون من بابين, الباب الأول: الخوارج (المبحث الأول: مدخل وتمهيد "أختلاف المسلمين وأسبابه, كيف أفترقت الأمة الإسلامية", المبحث الثاني: الخوارج في السنة المطهرة, المبحث الثالث: نشأة الخوارج وأهم صفاتهم, المبحث الرابع: مناقشة لأهم أفكار وآراء الخوارج في ضوء الفكرالإسلامي الصحيح).
الباب الثاني: الإباضية (المبحث الأول: مدخل إلي الإباضية "الأزراقة وآراؤهم الكلامية والفقهية", المبحث الثاني: "فرق المذهب الإباضي, النكارية, النفاثية, الخلفية, الحسينية أو العمرية, السكاكية, الفرثية, فرق الإباضية عند أصحاب المقالات", المبحث الثالث: "دور أعلام الإباضية في تطور المذهب الإباضي, عبد الله بن إباض, جابر بن زيد الأزدي, ابن أبي كريمة".
