كان واقفا أمام مرسمه، لم يستدر حينما فتح الباب.. لكنها تعلم أنه قد سمع وتعلم أنه مجروح.. تقف وراءه.. تضع ذراعيها حول عنقه.. وكما قطة تتملق صاحبها تحك رأسها على كتفيه إلى أن تضع وجهها على خده. هذه الإستراتيجية لم تفشل معه قط ولكنها تخذلها الآن.. هي تتوقع الأسوأ.
-ما كل أعشاب الكآبة هذه التي تنبت على وجهك؟
تهمس بذلك وهي تمرغ خدها على وجهه. أبعد وجهه عنها ثم تخلص من سجن ذراعيها.. استدار نحوها.. لكنه يهرب من حصار نظراتها إلى تأمل قدميه. فجأة تقرر الذهاب إلى الجهة المقابلة من الغرفة.. تقف هناك عند النافذة..
