صحيحٌ أنَّ الحِجاجَ من قَرِّع الحُجّة بالحُجّة بمعنى الجدال والمجادلة ضمنَ ما يمكنُ أنْ يُسمّى بفنِّ الجدَل العلميّ، وهو بهذه الدلالة ممارسة عقليّة لفكرة الإقناع، أو تحصين لفكرة الإقتناع، وصحيح أنَّ الحجاجَ لا يكونُ تأسيساً للخطاب المبنيّ على قواعدَ وأُسُسٍ بمعنى أنَّه لاحقٌ بالتقنينات المعرفيّة، فهو فرعٌ على أصل معرفيِّ ما قصدَ التفسير أو التمييز أو التحديد او النقد أو التحليل؛ لكنَّه في جوهره الصِّرفِ روحُ العلم، ذلك أنّه في فروع اللسانيّات العامّة على أقلِّ تقدير يمثِّل صفة الحياة في القانون اللسانيّ على مستوى النحو، أو الصَّرف، أو الصوت، أو المعجم، او التركيب المنثور أو المنظوم، أو التداول والتواصُل، أو التحليل البلاغيّ النقديّ للخطاب اللغويّ أيّاً كان شكلُه الأدبيّ ومضمونه التواصليّ أو الفكريّ أو الجماليّ، لأنَّ التقنين اللغويّ عندما ينتقل من صفة التجريد إلى صفة التطبيق أو الإستعمال إنَّما ينطلقُ مُحمَّلاً بآليّات الدفاع عن ذاته من الحجج والبراهين التي تكفلُ له أوَّلَ ما تكفلُ تحقيقَ صِدفيّةٍ عند واضعه أو مُستنبطه، كما تكفلُ له درجة عاليةً من الإيمان بالصوابيّة عند مستعمله، أو الآخذِ به.
