هذا الكتاب: تبدأ الأسطورة عادة مع صبي فتى أو فتاة يصبحان إثر مغامرات شتى أميراً أو أميرة ثم يتزوجان. هذه الأسطورة على عكس من ذلك تبدأ مع رجل عجوز له من العمر أربعة وتسعون عاماً يصبح في النهاية وبعد مغامرات كثيرة فتى في الثالثة عشر من العمره. لن يكون هذا سماجة بالنسبة للقارئ. لا لأن لهذا المر تفسير محمود. ولن يكون الجميع راضين عن نتائج القصة. من ذلك أننا لا نعرف ماذا سيكون عليه نهاية لامبرتو, وماذا سيصبح حين يكبر. لهذا الأمر حل. وهو ان كل قارئ لا يرضى بالنهاية, يستطيع أن يبدلها وفقاً لرغبته, مضيفاً الى الكتاب فصلاً أو فصلين أو ثلاثة عشر أيضاً.
